GURU TV-“The Jeff Passage Project”:Episode 1

NOONE QUITS GOLF ON MY WATCH. In my attempt to help every golfer that I come in contact with, I am starting with Jeff from Indiana. @jkpassage/twitter.com. The Golf Channel has nothing on Guru TV. Here is The Guru Project, online version.

Here is the video that he sent me to review:

Here is my response:

Best of Luck Jeff and God Bless,

Guru

    1. John, thanks for the encouragement. Let’s see who comes out better: me with Jason or Sir Charles with Hank.

  1. Jeff, you are a lucky man to get a lesson from the Guru! Here is my feedback to you. I am going to focus on one aspect, the takeaway. Guru is correct about your club coming way inside. The first thing you need to do is study various pro swings to see where there club is. This will help your mind understand that this is not just one instructor’s opinion, but rather the way the majority of top golfers swing. The club is outside of the hands on the takeaway. This, unfortunately, is only the beginning. Because to change your takeaway is going to be quite a chore, since you have it ingrained in your muscle memory. You will think you are changing it yet when you video yourself you will see that indeed you really didn’t. So, good luck to you, and take it one step at a time. All I ask from you in return is to tell me what it took to get an online video lesson from the Guru…because I want one too!

    1. Matt, what I want to confirm from you, Jason and others is that the takeaway is a proper rotation of the shoulders, arms, core, and hips all at the same time and not just arms only. Is this correct? The takeaway will be a one piece body rotation such that the arms and club shaft will stay in front of the body (or between the shoulders)? And all the same time maintaining the spine angle at set up?

    1. Rob, thanks for the encouragement. I am honored to be Jason’s “project.” You can’t possibly know how much I want to play good golf. 42 years of bad golf is enough!
