Alright, Let’s get this thing cranked up

The whole reason for this blog is to connect with my audience. I appreciate everyone who has visited and subscribed in the last couple of weeks and I know that I am new to this blog thing but I would love to get some golf questions or ideas for my next video.  I can certainly answer your questions via text or video (hence the reason I bought the flip cam which I highly recommend). I know this is an off week for the tour but any questions about a certain players swing or what I think about a particular swing error would be awesome to get the ball rolling.  So here is your homework for the next week. 1) come up with a golf or instruction question and 2) tell someone about my blog and our fine golf school if you have been there, if not you need to stop by.  I look forward to connecting with all of you soon..thanks and God Bless

The weekend and my new flip cam

The weekend and my new flip cam

What’s up everyone, I had a great week teaching about 25 hours which isn’t bad for the first week in November. My son Nick finished up his football season by winning his bowl game against the Porter Ridge gold team which included his best friend playing quarterback for that team. He played his best game of the year with three quality tackles (including one big hit on his buddy) and a very near interception. I am very proud to have not missed a single game even though with my unusual job requiring me to work on Saturdays. I am pretty sure that I won’t look back and wish that I would have given those extra lessons, I know Nick appreciated me being there and I had a great time watching he and his team play. a few of the dads and myself got together and painted our chests spelling out RAVENS. I was the E. The kids thought it was funny and it was pretty cool to get a little silly to get them fired up. I got some great footage with my new flip cam that I just purchased to help with my video tips and blogs as I go forward. This thing is awesome. This video will not make the blog, sorry. I have recieved alot of great response from my new tip including a student that I haven’t seen for 4 years that was inspired to come out after viewing my tip, which makes it all worth it. I am still trying to improve my content, information and editing so bear with me through this process. I have lots of great ideas for upcoming episodes for what I am going to call GURU TV, so stay tuned and thanks for your support of my teaching and our fine golf school.

God Bless and I will see you on the lesson tee, Guru

Hello world! The golf guru is here

I am excited to share information about myself, golf and  life with everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself first. One of the other teachers at the school started calling me the guru and it stuck.  I am a P.G.A Teaching Professional at the Dana Rader Golf School located in Charlotte, North Carolina (danarader.com). We are a top 25 ranked golf school in the country and are affiliated with the Ballantyne Hotel and lodge. I am originally from St. Albans, West Virginia and I am happily married to a wonderful woman named Tiffanie from Huntington, Wva. We have 2 children, Brittanie (10 yrs.) and Nicklaus (8yrs.). I am of Christian faith and I have a passion for what I do and enjoy my work. I have been teaching golf for 18 years and have written many articles for golfinstruction.com, travelgolf.com, publinks magazine and Metrolina Magazine. I am currently writing for Golf Illustrated and have an article coming out in the January/February issue. I also write a column for GI for every issue starting in 2010. I am also a fly fisherman and an avid runner who has run a couple of marathons and half marathons, so I am big on fitness as well. I definitlely have addictive or compulsive tendancies because everything I take on I go all out and try to be the best, for example, I ran 300 days in a row without missing a day until a shin splint caused me to recently take a break. More on that whole story and running in general later……This is just a brief look into my world, I hope you enjoy my videos and posts and I will be back later for more.
